Where Did My Weekend Go?

So I woke up some time in the middle of the night Thurs./Fri. with a burning sore throat and fever. I called in sick to work and slept until 3:30pm. Talk about dead to the world. Meanwhile my in-laws continued the painting extravaganza. I was so bummed to have to cancel on our hockey tickets and Tom stayed home instead of going without me. I had been looking forward to it for a month.

Saturday I woke up feeling better (but unfortunately Erika was right behind me) and was greeted by driving sleet. But that didn't stop us from our annual pilgrimage to the SnowSports Expo. It was fun to check out familiar ski resorts and also see some to dream about (ie. Banff, Chile and Switzerland). We drove home in this magical snow storm. But typical New Hampshire, some time during Trading Spaces it turned back to sleet. When we went to bed Tom was feeling cold (which NEVER happens). A quick check with the thermometer registering 100.2 confirmed that he too had fallen victim to the mysterious head cold.

We braved the icy streets this morning for breakfast with my parents. Yum! This week it was raspberry & peach pancakes. We were supposed to go outlet shopping but decided not to push our luck. So I finally did the touch up on the livingroom and Tom & his folks painted the ceiling and closet in the next bedroom we have to paint. It so great to be able to see the finish line on getting this house reasonably together.

So the folks have packed the van to leave tomorrow and we're doing those pre-workweek loads of laundry. Word on the street is that we'll get a break from this miserable weather tomorrow.
